Use a long straight stitch along the very edge to baste the pieces together.
Everything basted together with a loose straight stitch around the outside edge.
Now just sew your outer FOE on like you normally would for a basic FOE cover.

Seriously... incredible timing! I eagerly look forward to your tutorial for the standard gusset cover without FOE. Great tutorial as always!! Thank you! <3
ReplyDeleteI love all your tutorials! Thanks for putting this together. This is one thing I haven't worked up the enthusiasm to make yet...
ReplyDeleteSorry to ask this but how can I find the templates to make this? it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThis is exactly what I've been looking for! I have your Small to Large T&T Cover Template to go by, but what do you use to cut your gusset pieces? Also when you use FOE do you still cut your pieces using the seam allowance or do you use the 2nd line for stitching? Thanks!!!

Sorry nix that second part of the comment I found your OS FOE Cover template!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all of your hard work and being willing to share it with us. I'm sure that you have mentioned it and I somehow missed it but what is the purpose/idea behind having the snap on "hook and loop"?
ReplyDeleteThe hook is what snags other diapers and especially FOE in the wash/dryer. Laundry tabs are there to try and hold onto it so this is minimized. However, if you have removable tabs (the ONLY place where you use hook), then you never risk it in the first place because you remove them before washing and drying.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI can not find this model in your bosses, can you tell me that?
a big thank-you
Great. Which book you have projects?
ReplyDeleteHi, Arfy,
ReplyDeleteI can't find the specific instructions for this diaper cover with the leg gussets. I absolutely love the idea! Can you identify specifically which are the instructions?
Thank-you!!!
I can not find the pattern for this cover. Can you point me in the right direction. And what diaper would you use for this cover. Thank you in advance for your help.
ReplyDeleteIt isn't its own pattern. It is just an assembly method onto any other pattern really. Some people like to cut the crotch in a bit more narrowly than on typical FOE covers when they add the gussets though. I didn't bother doing it for this pictorial though. I just used a more general sized fitted template.
