I am working on my own pattern currently that has cased elastic, FOE, and combination versions.
I will work up some samples of each and publish tutorials for them over the next week or two.
For now, here is a draft mock-up of a template for the body section and a few sample photos:
I'm working it up for 12m-24m as well as 2T-4T :)
All templates utilize the same 5 inch wide by 6 inch tall microfleece w/ cased elastic sections for the stretchy hips.
They can be any style of diaper just like the regular PUL diaper templates. Pockets, AIOs, Pocket AIOs, AI2s, feel-dry or feel-wet (I'd go between those for night versus day use probably)...
Stay-dry AIO soaker and Pocket AIO soaker:
Just stitched on with a basic straight stitch on the back side of the inner:
Feel-wet AIO soaker and a snap-in AI2 soaker:
AIO soaker zig-zagged on the top side of the inner and AI2 soaker snapped in:

Awesome! we're done with them, but I've been sewing quite a few for the swap lately :)
ReplyDeleteSo excited for this!
ReplyDeletePerfect timing! We be needing some of these soon. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are the best!. super cute so far.
ReplyDeleteI love your patterns! But ive got a ginormous toddler I guess lol do you plan on making a pattern bigger than a 2-4
ReplyDeleteThe T&T version fit my 46lb 4 yr old, and she wears size 5/6 in most clothes... Are you making your leg elastics too tight or something? What about it doesn't fit?
DeleteI haven't tried it yet, but if it doesn't fit I have 2 more that will grow into it lol my 2 1/2 yo wears a 6/7 and has a big butt. I have started cutting out and just cut about an inch outside the pattern.
DeleteWhat type of fabric and how did you make the sides of the trainers?
ReplyDeleteIs there a tutorial on how to do the sides? I see where it says the 5 x 6 microfleece, but I'm still new to sewing still. Would love a video tutorial from start to finish if you have one. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat is the length of the elastic on the side panels? Thanks
ReplyDeleteDid this trainer pattern ever get made up? I checked the download page and the link brought me back here.
ReplyDeleteOh I found the extra links on the download page. Didn't see how that was set up at first.
Deletemuchas gracias batalle para encontrar un patron para hacer un entrenador y grcias a ti ya lo empesare a coser
ReplyDeleteHi Arfy
ReplyDeletethanks a bunch for this :) but i see the first sizing is 12-24m, can we add rise snaps alone to make it fit from say 0-12m? or do we need to add hip snaps too for 0-12m?
Thanks!
Is there a pdf download available I cat seem to find it!
ReplyDeleteI cant seem to find the down load page or link either. I click and click and it takes me in circles
ReplyDeleteI can't find it either! It's very frustrating
DeleteHas anyone been able to find the pdf for this?
ReplyDeletego to the main download page at http://prefold2fitted.blogspot.com/2012/10/online-free-downloads.html In the list find Pull up trainers. The bold title will bring you to this page. However all the following text are links to the pdfs depending on what pattern you are looking for.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
Thank you! My computer is in dark mode and the links were hidden from but I was able to find them.
DeleteHi! I like your Page! I have translated the Page with all your Links into German for my Blog. One Question, is it possible for you to make this trainer pattern bigger? I need it for a 6 year old child
ReplyDeleteTake a pair of undies that fit the child, cut them where you want snaps, trace it out so it looks like the above pattern (making sure to add overlap to the "wings" for the snaps), add your seam allowance (I do this by taping 2 pencils together, ends up about 1cm), and sew!
DeleteGreat idea and I thought about doing this but I have not seen anyone even thing of doing it this way. I need pull up covers for my furbabe as he has spina bifida and incontinent of bowel and bladder. I don't put diapers on him only pull ups. I need covers that will fit him as he is an English Bulldog and he has a strange body structure. That you for your idea.
DeleteDo you have anything for an adult diaper?
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI would like to get access to this pattern but was told I cannot have access. Can you please grant me access? Thank you.
