Newborn and One-Size FOE Cover pattern templates

I now have a VIDEO tutorial online for FOE covers.

I measured the amount of FOE I use on the OS cover today and it is 50" the way I sew it.   :)

  2. I got the pdfs, but I started cutting this one and realized there's no elastic marking. Does it matter where I put the elastic at? Thanks!

  3. By "put the elastic" I really do mean "stretch the FOE". LOL!

  4. You stretch it tight through the legs and about 75% across the back. You control it snuggly but not stretching everywhere else. I do the front side around to the other front side and then cut another piece to use across the front and sew "X" boxes at the corners to bind it really well. :)

  7. I've emailed you twice. Are you still giving out the pdf of the pattern? It looks great and I need to make some newborn/small diapers soon for my expected little one!

  10. Can you please point me in the direction of the tutorial for the assembly of this pattern? Or do you literally just cut it out on the line and sew FOE around the entire edge? Thanks in advance from this novice sewing person! :)

    1. See the comment I posted in early March up above and use a wide (I use a little over a 3) 3-step zig-zag stitch (the dashed zig-zag) hugging the inner edge. You just fold over as you go. Don't pre-pin or clip or anything. :)

Sewing with FOE takes some practice, but once you get it, it is quick and easy.

    1. Not likely. You would want the one-size.

If you need to make a sized cover because of no snaps, just use my sized squaretab templates and round out the corners for FOE. There are also other free sized cover templates and patterns online.

  22. Is there anything special I should know or advice you would give if I wanna add gussets to these patterns?

  23. I was wondering if you could point me to the instructions? I don't see them with the template and I cry when I knit on double knit needles and sew square pockets so instructions are always better for my productivity.

  24. Do you know what the weight range on this cover is?

  25. Could this be used as a pocket diaper pattern? I don't see why not, but I'll ask just in case...
